Preparation Methods
Rehydrating PetMix
To prepare PetMix, add warm water (never boiling) to rehydrate it. For added flavor and nutrition, consider substituting water with:
- Broth: Choose a low-sodium, dog-friendly broth (such as chicken or beef) to enhance taste and provide additional nutrients.
- Warmed Goat’s Milk: Goat's milk is often easier for dogs to digest than cow's milk and can provide a creamy texture that dogs love.
Cooking with Owner-Supplied Proteins
Cooking with your own protein sources is a safe option that eliminates potential harmful bacteria and may benefit dogs with specific health concerns.
Feeding Raw with Owner-Supplied Proteins
Raw feeding provides a natural diet closer to what dogs would eat in the wild, preserving essential nutrients and benefiting overall health.
